The Information Technology Services (ITS) Department provides computerized financial system applications, Internet, email, and network services that support the business needs of school districts and the county education office. The ITS department is responsible for information systems (programming and operations of payroll, human resources, and financial system software applications) and information technology (the infrastructure that provides access to the software applications and to the Internet).

ITS also provides critical operational services for SBCEO and 20 school districts. A team of in-house software engineers provide business process reengineering, system and database administration, system integration and software development services in support of the financial management information system. Our financial system is designed for high reliability, includes a Disaster Recovery-Business Continuity Plan, and is complemented by hotline support for school districts.

For SBCEO departments, ITS provides Local Area Network (LAN) and workstation support services. LAN services include connectivity to the SBCEO secure internal private network, both wired and wireless, managed antivirus protection, file storage and file sharing, and backup services. Workstation support includes technical assistance with recommending, purchasing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting computer hardware, software and peripherals. In addition, ITS provides a public wired and wireless network for use by workshop participants and other guests at our facilities.
